| If your current Internet Service
Provider does allow you to send emails using EPSKED, you do not need to
read this page. If your current Internet Service
Provider does NOT allow you to send emails using EPSKED, you may still be
able to email schedules, memos and schedule summaries using Yahoo Mail. Until
July of 2002, this service was free. It is still very reasonably priced at about
$1.67/month (November 2003) as part of the Yahoo Premium Service. This page will
describe in detail the steps required to get EPSKED working with Yahoo Premium
Service email.
- Before signing up for Yahoo Premium Service as described below, make sure
that connection will be allowed by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Most
Internet Service Providers will allow you to send messages using other
companies' SMTP outgoing mail servers; some will not. If your ISP has
"port 25 blocking", you will not be able to use Yahoo to send
email.
- Follow the instructions at: http://ordering.yahoo.com/or/ypm/splash?855&Pkgs=us:ym:pop&.osig=zQwKT
to sign up for Yahoo Premium Service (Yahoo! Mail POP Access and Forwarding).
- Once your Yahoo account is active, open EPSKED to the scheduling program
Main Menu and select the Options...Email dropdown menu. In the displayed
EPSKED Email Information Manager window you should:
- Enter smtp.mail.yahoo.com as the Server
- Click the Authentication Required checkbox, so that it is checked.
- As User name, enter your Yahoo Mail ID (the portion of your Yahoo email
address before the "@yahoo.com")
- Enter (and confirm when requested) the password used for accessing your
Yahoo account.
When this process is completed, your EPSKED Email Information Manager
window you should appear similar to that shown here (with the username
entry instead containing your Yahoo Mail ID (the portion of your Yahoo email
address before the "@yahoo.com" .)

Once the above is complete, click the Send test email button (at the
bottom of the EPSKED Email Information Manager window) to send an email to the
address you entered as your own email address in EPSKED. If no error messages are
received, you should receive an email message sent to that address, advising you
that you have successfully configured EPSKED to send email messages.
For some common problems, EPSKED will offer suggestions. If you experience
continued problems,
contact ByteBloc Software at support@bytebloc.com
. Please describe your settings and the nature of the difficulty you are having.
