WebSked reports "you submitted this request from an invalid URL"

Problem: You have been unable to log in to WebSked because, after entering your login information, a message informs you that "you submitted this request from an invalid URL".

Solution: This is almost certainly due to a firewall problem on your computer.
Try temporarily disabling the firewall on your computer and see if that allows you to login in to WebSked. If it does, then you will need to adjust settings in your firewall if you wish to use WebSked with your firewall enabled.

We have most commonly seen this problem with the Computer Associates - Personal Firewall and the problem is resolved by adding www.websked.com in the "Manage Sites" window of that program.

To do this:
1. In the "CA Personal Firewall" section click the "Open Advanced settings" button.
2. Click the "Privacy" button.
3. Click the "Manage Sites" button.
4. Click the "+ Add" option and add websked.com with all option checked.

Similar problems may occur with other personal firewalls and should be resolved by similar steps.

If your firewall is disabled and you are still receiving this error message, please read on.

URL is an acronym for "Uniform Resource Locator", and is jargon for all the addresses of a resource on the Internet beginning with http:// .
You will get an "an invalid URL" message from Internet Explorer when you are accessing WebSked using a URL other than:

    http://www.websked.com.

or this will work also:

   http://216.93.185.65

For example, if you try:

   http://216.93.185.65/webskedlogin.php

an error message will be displayed stating, "You submitted this form from an invalid URL". If you are receiving this error message with your firewall disabled please let us know:

a). How are you accessing the website (clicking on an email link, as a stored Favorites link, typing in the URL, or ???)

b). The full URL of the login screen that was giving the error. The URL will be displayed in the address bar of Internet Explorer. If you are not using Internet Explorer, what is your browser?

c). The exact text of the error message you are receiving.

Please send information to: support@bytebloc.com and we will work to help resolve this problem for you.
